They Grow Up So Fast...

Anyone else think it might be time for a big boy bed?

ABCDEFG...

We have started a new activity at home where we focus on one letter a week. We call it, in an amazingly original manner, "The Letter of the Week." I shamelessly stole the idea from a friend, Alicia, who does this with her daughter Sarah. She always has great ideas if I run dry.

The basic concept is this: We inundate ourselves with activities, books, food, field trips, games, etc. that start with the letter of the week. For example, this week is "D week" so we have had Dance parties, planned a Dipping Dinner (everything got dipped in something...hummus, tomato sauce, yogurt), played with Dolls, Doodled and Drawn, gone Dress shopping, watched Diego rescue a Dolphin (Go Diego Go!), and started learning about Dinosaurs. We have also read a ton of books with D in the title, or about D things (dogs, doctors, etc) and found the letter D anywhere and everywhere. We even went to the Doctor's office! (Although that was a coincidence) Tomorrow we are going to the AMNH to see the dinosaur skeletons and try to match them to our toys. Later we will use the toys to make a Diorama. Are you tired of D yet? We have only just begun!

It keeps us busy, and the kids love it. John can even identify an A and a B, and sometimes a C. And so can Rose. And so can I.

(Late) Love Bugs!

Well, I found the camera. It's amazing the things that end up behind bookcases. So now, better late than never, here are the Valentine's Day pictures I promised. We made the hats at Preschool on the Planet, but they liked them so much they wanted to wear them all day. Rose's says "Love Butterfly" instead of Love Bug because "We don't really love bugs." But we DO love butterflies. John's says love bug because he didn't put up a fight. It's pink because Stephen wasn't around to put up a fight either. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Oh Where, Oh Where Can It Be?

Somehow I have misplaced our camera. I used it to take some adorable pictures on Valentines Day in order to make you all go "awwwwwww." That night I went to move them to the computer, and I couldn't find the camera ANYWHERE. I still can't find the camera anywhere. Granted, my kids do have a tendency to hide things from me, but I usually find them before too long. This is getting ridiculous.
